St. Patrick's Day party! Voodoo Loons will be headlining a full day of Celtic-inspired bands on Cincinnati's Fountain Square this year. The full lineup will be announced soon, look for details on the Events and Facebook pages. Brother in music Mark Daly will join again on mandolin. Should be a huge time... last year drew 5000+, and this year St. Paddy's Day is on a Saturday... so mark your calendar now!

Some big news items:
1. "The Winter Trail" will debut this Saturday on SiriusXM, via Larry Kirwan's fantastic Celtic Crush program, on the Spectrum.
2. We're also launching a new YouTube channel, featuring a cool new video for "The Winter Trail", along with some other past clips, bootlegged and otherwise.

Hmmm... so it looks like we haven't updated since April. Wow, time fuckin' flies. Blame it on the weather, the water calling, the season of patio happy hours, and the sum of all those equating to an early bedtime under a cool ceiling fan. So sorry if we've seemed anti-social <media>. So where's that new album that was supposed to be out this summer? Well, it's still a work in progress. Blame the same factors above. The good news is there's a stack of great material just waiting to be recorded. The bad news is we're in a cycle of perpertual rescheduling. The other good news is that we really want to knock these tracks out... so hopefully sometime soon. In the mean time there a few of the new songs on the sounds page. We'll put some others up soon. Relatively speaking ;-)

The Loons will play Feb 11 @ TAZA in Cincinnati with Acarya. Should be a rather cool night... interesting venue and an eclectic mix of sounds. Check out Acarya here... they mix traditional rock
instrumentation w/vibraphones, etc. for a kinda rootsy prog sound. Should be fun!

In all honesty, the sessions schedule had been slipping lately. Typical shit that happens, you can't really stop it, and lord knows you don't want to force it...
Anyway, big progress today. Great progress on 5 songs all in about 4 hours time. Very exciting, and can't wait to put them up.... but not quite yet...

Due to their merger, the Sirius channels that have been playing the Loons have now changed. Left of Center is now XMU (Sirius 26/XM 43), and Disorder has
been replaced by The Loft (Sirius 29/XM 50). Larry Kirwan's Celtic Crush program has moved to Sundays 9am-noon on the Spectrum (Sirius 18).

Voodoo Loons on Sirius Satellite Radio- The Loons will be featured on Larry Kirwan's Celtic Crush program in the coming weeks. The program airs on Saturdays from 10am-1pm and again on Tuesdays, 10pm-1am on Sirius Disorder (ch. 33). Disorder
is a great station, covering lots of ground from all sorts of music and genres, the common thread being that they're rather eclectic. Larry, BTW, also has a fine band of his own called Black 47. You can request Loons music on Sirius by calling 1-877-33-SIRIUS, or at these links for Disorder and Left of Center (ch. 26).
